Baden-Württemberg

Germany’s South West State, Baden-Württemberg, bordering France to the West, Switzerland to the south and Bavaria to the East is a modern, high-tech region, but created less than 60 years ago from smaller states. With older university towns such as Heidelberg, Tübingen and Freiburg and more modern cities such as Karlsruhe and the state capital, Stuttgart.

Baden-Württemberg is home to world-known German brands such as Daimler, Bosch, SAP and Porsche, but also smaller firms from the ‘Mittelstand’. The standard of living is high and with the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), Swabian Alb and Lake Constance (Bodensee) all within its borders (not to mention the local wine), it’s easy to see why people love it here and the population is growing due to immigration from other states.
